The approach that engineering (and some other) disciplines use to specify how to create or do something. A successful design must satisfy a (perhaps informal) functional specification (do what it was designed to do); conforms to the limitations of the target medium (it is possible to implement); meets implicit or explicit requirements on performance and resource usage (it is efficient enough).
A design may also have to satisfy restrictions on the design process itself, such as its length or cost, or the tools available for doing the design |
In plain english, design is the layout you create to present your web site, products or information to your potential customers.
It is this design that will make a visit to your website pleasing and worthwhile or make it something to be avoided at all costs. What will your site project to your visitors ?
We have all been to site where they are hard to navigate, hard to read, all the colours are wrong, the layout is really bad ... all these elements (and more)make up the design of your website, get it right and you will reap the benefits, get it wrong and suffer the consequences .... It is too important to get it wrong ! |
